All of our Principle Investigators are happy to discuss possible summer research projects. These are generally available to undergraduate students in the summer vacation period between years 1 & 2, or years 2 & 3 of their degree. You don't need to be an undergraduate at UEA - summer projects are open to undergraduates studying for a relevant degree at any university. These projects are a great opportunity for any undergraduate students returning to Norwich for the summer vacation.
Summer projects generally last for 8 weeks, although this can be flexible. 4 weeks is probably the minimum useful duration for a summer research project, while 8 weeks is ideal and longer projects may also be possible.
For undergraduate students between the 1st and 2nd years of their degree, projects are usually undertaken on a voluntary basis.
For undergraduate students between the 2nd and 3rd years of their degree, it is often possible to secure funding for summer projects, although voluntary projects are also possible. Funded projects normally have an 8 week duration and possible funders include:
